Get Involved

Come Join the Work.

Restoring a landscape takes more than planting trees. It takes students willing to learn, teachers willing to try something new, families willing to show up and community partners willing to share what they have.

You don’t need any experience, and you don’t need to take on more than you can. Come see what fits.

Land & Restoration Partners

Land managers, native plant growers, nurseries, researchers and conservation storytellers. If you work with desert land or native plants, we would like to hear from you. You may have places that need trees, knowledge we do not have, or an audience that should know this work is happening.

What Participation Looks Like

You Don’t Have to Be an Expert to Help.

Restoration takes many hands. Volunteers may help carry water, move trees, prepare planting areas and support the people working in the field.

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another project, your contribution matters. You don’t have to do everything, and you don’t need any experience. Come do what you’re comfortable with, and we’ll show you the rest.

Three Years of Follow-Up

Every planting will be monitored for three years.

Planting is the beginning, not the end. Each restoration planting will be monitored for three years to document tree survival, growth and environmental conditions.

Year 1

Trees are grown at the school, then planted. Planting day counts as year one, and we record where, when and how many.

Year 2

Survival checks and watering support will follow through the hottest months as the trees establish.

Year 3

Growth measurements will document how the planting is responding.

Following Years

Trees will transition to independent growth.

Come out and support our students as we plant 150 student-grown ironwood trees at Four Peaks. Local sixth grade students have been growing native ironwood trees at their school. On November 14, they will donate 150 of their school-grown trees to be planted at the Bush Fire burn scar in Tonto National Forest. Bring your family, friends or community group and spend the day replanting native trees and giving back to our public lands.
